Planning for baby #2

Now that derrick is almost 2, husband and I are discussing when we're gonna try for baby2.
To be honest, I'm not too sure if I'm ready to be pregnant again. It was so traumatic and horrible that I distinctly remember all the bad sides of being pregnant, and even recovery after delivering was so difficult for me, that it's making me seriously reconsider what it would mean for me if I do get pregnant again.
The morning sickness that lasted all three trimesters, the back pains, the sleepless nights, the uncontrollable urinary movements, food aversions, mood swings, skin troubles.... The list goes on.
If I see it from a family perspective, of course I would love to have another baby. Derrick will have a sibling and our family will grow. From a personal and individual point, I'm scared, and might even sound selfish, but do I really need to go through that? Again?
I'm conflicted. Every minute my decisions waver. Not to mention financially, are we ready? Husband reassures me we are and it's really up to me. He says he doesn't want to wait any longer since he thinks derrick and the next sibling shouldn't be more than 3 years apart. I agree.
And once again, I'm at a crossroad.
I need to pray about this, and make a decision. As of now, I'm not too sure, but I want to try.

Fun at church infant service

This craft project was Derrick's first completed one. I'm so proud of him because he actually sat down and finished doing it!
The Korean congregation provides Sunday school for infants/toddlers, and it's a great chance for derrick to learn Korean and socialize with other Korean babies.

Derrick's adventures

Have been really busy with Gma from Korea leaving, and Derrick growing up and not staying still has prevented me from updating!!
He's an active boy who loves to go out and play.
He's still a crybaby, and a very cautious one at that.
Halloween is coming up next week, and here are some photos done by amazing Lori Sapio.
And then I had some fun decorating

Today we went to the frequently visited and newly renovated Western Park
Fall is here and derrick loves playing with the leaves
Tomorrow we're planning to visit a pumpkin farm!
Until the next post keep us in your prayers

Making popsicles for Derrick!

Inspired by Sydney, the writer of her awesome blog hello Greyboy, I decided to make Derrick some popsicles.

The freeze pop molds are small, but I figured, the smaller it is, the less messier it'll be. If Derrick wants more, he can have more.

Ingredients: Strawberries, mangoes, kiwis, yakult

While I was busy making the popsicles, Derrick was busy taking all the ziplock bags out of the box.

Here are the fruits nicely sliced

In goes the yakult

Goes in the mold and the handles lock in

Into the freezer!

And now we're taking a break :]

I will give it to Derrick as dessert for dinner tonight.
Hope he likes it!

Until the next post, keep us in your prayers!

Recent happenings

It was Chicago Gpa's birthday not too long ago so we decided to take family photos and give them to him for his gift.

Talented Lori took the photos for us.

These turned out great, as always, because of Lori's awesome photography skills.

We also went to church this Easter and had an awesome Easter Lunch!

It was scrumptious!

We are still attending aqua babies, and Derrick loves being in the water, except when he goes on his back for back float position, and all of a sudden he'll turn into a screaming baby!

Sam Teacher says babies hate it usually, so don't be discouraged.
The past two weeks has been difficult to get him to go into back float position,
but I have faith! We will keep at it until Derrick loves being in the water for all positions.

Days are getting warmer and we can finally do a lot of activities!
Until the next post, keep us in your prayers!

Thank you for coming!

We also started his first aqua babies swim class at Galter Life Center!!
He did awesome.

He's also been standing and kind of walking!

He will be walking in no time!

We also went for his 1 year checkup today.
He is 95th percentile for his height at 31.5 inches
and 50th percentile for weight at 21.8 pounds.

He also now recognizes his doctor, whom he does not like, and cries every time we visit her office.
It doesn't help that each time we see her is usually for hospital admittance, or ER visit, or vaccinations, so Derrick associates her with pain and fear. Poor thing.

All in all, Derrick is doing well and is growing just fine.

Until the next post, keep us in your prayers!
