Holiday begins for the Kims

It's November, it's cold, and holidays are just around the corner :]

One of the mommy friends I made at the Halloween costume party, the talented Lori Sapio, took some amazing shots that I used to make our holiday card. 

I've wanted to make holiday cards since I got married, which according to the husband is "kind of stupid when you don't have kids". Now that we have Derrick, I can, and I did. They are on their way and will soon be posted to family and friends. YAY :]

Lori also hosted another play date for the upcoming Thanksgiving. It was a photoshoot/potluck/playdate at Lori's studio at Revival Pinups

We met a Korean baby boy named Isaac at the playdate! 

It was Derrick's first time meeting a Korean boy his age :]

And Lori shot some awesome photos of Derrick and also a mommy and me picture.

I had a chance to get makeup done by one of Lori's makeup artists, and we had fun with the lip color :]

Derrick has been such a fun boy to be around these days.

Derrick also cut his first tooth recently.

He has also taken a liking to talking with his stuffed animal dolls. 

This time he was talking with his monkey.

And trying to suction monkey's nose with his aspirator, and talking to him that he's going to do it. 

Derrick's eyelashes are super long.

And this past Sunday, the holiday festivities kicked off with some awesome thanksgiving dinner at church during lunch time :D

And we put our tree up today :]

Daddy did the hard part, while Derrick looked on and Mommy took pictures.

And the lights worked once we plugged it in; Derrick loved the lights!

Mommy did the fun part; decorating the tree. 

Derrick just watched this year, but by next year I'm sure he can help decorate too!

Derrick's first invitation to a birthday party and other updates

It was Cousin Emily's aka Emmy's first birthday on Novemer 2nd.

Derrick also met eemohalmuni for the first time.

All the babies/kids got handmade paper animal masks. Derrick was a squirrel. And he loved being with eemohalmuni.

We had so much fun! 

We had first snow of the season in Chicago couple days ago. So Derrick has been bundling up.

And staying inside. Enjoying a toe or two. 

Or just chilling with mommy.

And Derrick has ALMOST mastered crawling. ALMOST. 

Derrick is so fun to be around these days since he's developed such an awesome personality.

Derrick's First Halloween and other activities

Derrick's First Halloween Ever!
This year he decided (or rather, mommy decided for him :]) to be an alligator.
We got this outfit from Carter's.
Many people thought he was a dragon or a dinosaur so mommy had to keep telling them he was an alligator :D
On Saturday, October 26th, we dressed in the costume to our wiggleworms class, then stopped by Chicago Gma and Gpa's store.

Chomp Chomp!

On 27th, we stayed in, since Derrick and Daddy were both sick with a cold.

But Baby D didn't lose his smile!

On 28th, we went to Costco, and Baby D had his first official shopping cart ride! He rode like a big boy!

He made sure all the grocery was there, and made sure to hold the bar in the front :]

On Tuesday, October 29th, we went to meet Redfield and Annalee.

Redfield was a pumpkin. He's 3 months old, and Derrick at 7 months, looks like a giant next to him!

Derrick said hello to Annalee 

And then played footsies with each other.

Then on the 30th, day before Halloween, we went to a costume party at Viola's house :]

Totally zonked out after all that play!!

The day of Halloween, it rained all day so we couldn't go out to trick or treat :[

But we had fun playing in our house.

Derrick now hops/runs/walks around the living room!

 He played with his toy car, and realized wheels go round and round. This resulted in him grunting his grandpa grunt, which he does whenever he's focused. 

Derrick now talks to his lion chair. Lion was his best friend that day.

Derrick now completely knows that "Derrick" is his name. Before it was 50/50. Now, he turns his head whenever he hears his name called. I think this happened around a week before he turned 7 months. 

Derrick is still attempting to crawl, hasn't mastered it yet. BUT, when he's propped up, (with my help), he can stand up!

He also loves spending time with daddy. Seems like he's growing up too fast, and preferring daddy over mommy :'[

All in all, we had a GREAT halloween!

And Derrick is a healthy and happy baby, who loves to smile and eat :]
