So the husband was sick and he was sick for a good two week period.
Then Derrick got sick, for a good 10 day period.
The past month I have been playing nurse for both of them.
Now they're both better, whew!
Even though he's been sick, he has been bursting with energy!
Here he is enjoying his apple.
He loves to bang stuff together and make noise.
He also has learned that he doesn't like things taken away from him.
Derrick is now a crawling, standing pro. I think it's a matter of weeks until he figures out to balance himself without holding on to anything, and then he will start walking!
He's super slow on the teething department, the second tooth is really playing hard to get. Top two are playing peekaboo as well. We will wait and see, but it's been making Derrick wake up numerous times during the night.
Gma, Gpa and Aunt Grace from Seoul are coming in couple months!
It has been snow storming and temperatures have dropped below freezing thanks to snowstorm Hercules. Today was a record breaking -15F. It hasn't been this cold since 20 years ago. 0_o
Derrick has not gone outside the past week or so. All of us are going stir-crazy and developing a serious case of cabin fever.
So it's pretty difficult to entertain and amuse this little man of ours, what with little toys we have.
But, Derrick has kept himself busy hitting all these milestones he's been working on for quite some time now.
Here's Derrick getting a ride along in the laundry basket
And here he is working real hard to pull himself up in a standing position
Future progolfer in training! Playing with the swing weight.
AND HE FINALLY PULLS HIMSELF UP IN STANDING POSITION!
When he's bored of pulling himself up, watching washer and dryer is always a fun activity.
And of course playing with mommy's hands and his own hands is a fun pastime!
He has recently gotten over roseola, a viral infection.
3 days of high fever 103F, and then suddenly the fever broke, and then his body was covered in rash for 3 days, and now it's as if nothing had ever happened.
Since we were at our ped's for the 9 month check up, we asked what could've caused this infection, and of course the answer is, numerous things.
All we could've done, and what we did, was to keep the fever down by giving him Advil every 6 hours and to keep him hydrated.
Good news is
Derrick is now at
19.3 pounds (50th percentile)
30 in. tall (85th percentile)
with 18 in head circumference.(75th percentile)
He has one tooth, and another one about to break through.
Dr prescribed blood work for lead and anemia. Hopefully everything will come out a-ok.
On a brighter note,
Derrick loves to clap,
and thinks mommy's toes are tasty
He loves money
And overall he's such a happy go lucky kind of a baby.
Derrick has been having such a fun time with Daddy these days
And then gets all serious blowing raspberries
He also has been doing awesome hand gestures, which I call the "godfather"
He also loves to work out
Derrick has been trying to stand up on his own. He hasn't mastered crawling yet….
And today we went to Lincoln Park Zoo for their ZooLights festival!
Waiting in line for Santa
Where are you Santa?
Finally a pic with Santa- He could't do it solo since he got really scared and starting crying so much. Maybe next week at Macy's Santaland he'll do better!
Daddy ordered the Christmas ornament, too!
We had so much fun! We will continue the festivities next week at Macy's and Christkindle downtown!
